?By being both a yearbook and a photography
company, Cady & Cady
Studios is constantly searching for ways to help make your school's
yearbook experience more educational, fun, and to provide better opportunities
for the students and advisers. The Student Photographer Education Program
(SPEP) was started with each of those reasons in mind.
The program’s
goals are:
- To empower the school yearbook staff to
create their own book from every aspect; including text, design,
and photographs. Just like you wouldn’t ask a stranger to
write the story about your school's
Baseball Team, your staff knows best what angles need to be covered
at school events, the types of pictures you will need for your layouts,
and who you want to see in your book.
- To educate all yearbook
students about the general terms of photography.
Even students who do not plan to go into a career with photography
still use cameras for personal use on a regular basis. Having a general
knowledge of composition, lighting, and posing is useful knowledge
that yearbook students will gain through our yearly workshops and
classroom visits
- To educate two select students with
very detailed, in-depth photography knowledge and skills. These select
students will be trained throughout the year and given opportunities
to pursue careers or furthered education in photography.
- To
ease the workload of the adviser. By having a trained photographer
in your class, you no longer have to worry about scheduling photographers
or last minute/rained out events adding unnecessary stress
